People `worry more about finances than terrorism`

Britons see their personal finances as the biggest threat to their quality of life, it has emerged.
In the most recent Lifestyle Report by Abbey, respondents put worries about personal finances, which may include debt management, above issues such as climate change and terrorism.
Nearly a quarter of people cited financial issues as their most pressing worry.
Abbey spokesperson Sue Hayes commented: "The real concern for people is money and we are hoping that this is a signal that people are planning to get more engaged with their finances in 2007."
The survey also reveals that 32 per cent of adults believe their quality of life will improve over the course of 2007, while 15 per cent think it will get worse.
In related personal finance news, one-third of Britons failed to save any money at all in 2006, while eight out of ten plan to concentrate on saving more this year, according to research from Alliance & Leicester.
